My Journey Into Aviation

My name is Brandon Dorsey. My journey in aviation began with my first discovery flight in the summer of 2023, where I fell in love with the freedom of the sky. If you’ve never taken a discovery flight, please reach out to me. There’s nothing quite like flying a single-engine airplane for the first time! From that first flight behind the controls, I developed a deep passion for aviation that eventually led me to earn my flight instructor certificate.

While training to become a flight instructor, something clicked for me: one of the fastest ways to find out how well you know something is to teach it to someone else! Growing up, I never would have pictured myself teaching people how to fly airplanes. But throughout my training, I realized how much I enjoy watching someone figure out something that once seemed impossible and being a part of that journey.

As you may find in the aviation industry, not everyone is passionate about flight instruction. It takes long days, patience, empathy, and a constant commitment to safety. For me, that’s part of what makes it so rewarding. I love being able to help someone learn, grow, and work toward something they once only dreamed of doing. It gives me a sense of purpose and motivates me to keep learning and become the best version of myself.

Away from the airport, you’ll probably find me at the gym or picking up a new hobby. My current one is videography! If you get to know me, you’ll quickly learn that I love learning new things, exploring different interests, and being a part of something bigger than myself.
